The energy-neutral headquarters of SWYCS

In 2022, SWYCS took a significant step towards a sustainable future by moving to a fully energy-neutral headquarters. With the help of the innovative SWYCS platform and advanced sensors, we continuously optimize our energy consumption, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact. Additionally, we are investing in sustainable transport. All new company vehicles are electric, meaning 25% of our fleet has already been renewed. SWYCS also actively encourages the use of public transport and public transport bicycles, and employees are given the opportunity to work flexibly from home.

SWYCS solutions go beyond merely efficiently managing buildings; they actively contribute to sustainability. With our advanced monitoring of installations and buildings, we provide managers with the tools to optimally manage their properties and reduce energy consumption. Responsibly manufactured sensors according to the 6R Principle.
At SWYCS, a sustainable production process is central. We apply the 6R principle, which consists of the following steps: 1. Refuse & Rethink, 2. Reduce, 3. Reuse, 4. Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture & Repurpose, 5. Recycle, and finally 6. Recover. Our sensors are produced responsibly and largely within Europe. This reduces transport distances and significantly lowers CO₂ emissions. In addition, we reuse and recycle materials wherever possible to minimize our ecological footprint. This approach not only contributes to a more sustainable world but also ensures better availability of sensors and other hardware. This allows us to respond quickly to customer needs and actively contribute to a circular economy. At SWYCS, we take responsibility at every step of the process and take concrete steps towards a sustainable future.

Sustainable waste management and reuse at SWYCS
At SWYCS, we are actively committed to waste reduction by placing recycling and reuse at the heart of our policy. Industrial waste, such as defective sensors, is carefully separated and collected. Instead of destroying sensors, we ensure that they are fully reused, thereby limiting unnecessary waste.

For products that have completed their full life cycle, we partner with a specialized electronics recycling company. In this way, we contribute to a circular economy and reduce our ecological footprint with every sensor we produce and maintain.

Social engagement, space for everyone, and care for the community.
SWYCS strives for an inclusive work environment where everyone gets a chance. Therefore, SWYCS offers opportunities to people facing barriers to employment, such as the long-term unemployed or those with a history of trauma. They receive guidance to participate proudly in the workforce and utilize their talents.

In addition, SWYCS combats food waste by donating surplus products to a Zeeland initiative, which helps local families in need. In this way, SWYCS contributes to a future that is both sustainable and socially just, with regard for people, society, and the environment.

Young talent brings a fresh perspective, energy, and creativity, and we are convinced that these qualities are indispensable for the future. Therefore, SWYCS offers internships and graduation placements to students from universities of applied sciences and universities. This gives them the opportunity to translate their theoretical knowledge into valuable practical experience. Students work on real projects and are challenged to further develop their skills, while simultaneously being introduced to the latest technologies and trends.

SWYCS’s guest lectures for MBO, HBO, and WO students bridge the gap between theory and practice. They offer students practical knowledge and inspiration, while SWYCS gets the opportunity to share experiences. This strengthens the connection between education and the professional field and encourages students to use their talents to make a positive impact.

In addition, the guest lectures contribute to the social development of students. By sharing practical examples on topics such as sustainability and innovation in healthcare, SWYCS motivates them to actively contribute to a sustainable and inclusive future.

Durable and reliable sensors of the best quality
SWYCS consciously chooses sensors with an excellent price-performance ratio and long-lasting performance. Hardly any defects have been reported in the past five years, confirming their high reliability. Maintenance is minimal and limited to battery replacement and inspection.

Our sensors switch to ‘deep sleep mode’ after transmission modes to reduce energy consumption to near zero, minimizing wear and battery drain. This ensures a sustainable and reliable solution for our customers.

Environmentally friendly packaging material
Did you know that the box in the photo is made from agricultural waste? For the Facilitair & Gebouwbeheer Trade Fair 2025, we consciously chose sustainable boxes from PaperWise. This cardboard is made from agricultural waste that would normally be incinerated. By reusing this residual material, it gets a second life as a raw material for paper and cardboard that is also produced using 100% green energy. This smart solution means: felling fewer trees, planting fewer trees, and double use of agricultural land: for food and paper.

In other areas as well, we consciously choose environmentally friendly solutions. For instance, all our flyers are printed on FSC-certified paper, our pens are made of cardboard, and more.
