Sustainability

SWYCS finds importance in a positive contribution to the environment and society. Safety, health and wellbeing of employees and customers are essential factors for this. This, SWYCS is trying to reach by striving for a continuous improvement in the field of quality, environment, safety and health.

Reduction of own energy usage

In 2022, SWYCS moved to a 100% energy neutral head office. In this office there is continuous attention for energy saving with the help of the SWYCS platform and sensors. All new company cars are electric, currently 25% of cars have been renewed.

SWYCS also simulates the use of public transport, and ‘OV-fietsen’ are available for a more sustainable commute from and to the
office. All employees also have the opportunity to work from home.

Energy usage reduction for customers

Solutions by SWYCS do more than just manage buildings, they are also super sustainable. With our monitoring of installations and buildings they can be managed even better and so costs in energy can be saved for example.

Reduction of the CO₂ footprint at the purchasing process

SWYCS strives to a sustainable process. This is why offered sensors are being collected responsibly in Europe. Because of this the sensors do not travel too far and thus reduce CO2 emissions. This also ensures for a better sensor availability.

Reduction of company waste

By recycling SWYCS can reduce industrial waste. Waste is separated and collected as much as possible. This applies not only to industrial waste, but also to defective sensors. At SWYCS, a defective sensor is 100% reused. The sensors are not destroyed but restored. In addition, end-of-life products are offered by a specialized company for the recycling of electronics.

Contribution to society

At SWYCS there is room for people with a distance to the job market. This concerns people who for whatever reason have difficulty getting a regular job find. This may be due to long-term unemployment, but for example also due to trauma or a history of addiction. These people want to work, but they have need for some extra guidance.

SWYCS is also committed to preventing food waste by donating surpluses to a initiative from Zeeland that supports people on a tight budget.

The best quality sensors

SWYCS consciously chooses sensors with an excellent price/quality ratio. In the past 5 years, hardly any defects in sensors have been discovered by customers. Maintenance of the sensors is limited to replacing batteries and monitoring correct operation.

Between the data transfer intervals, the sensors go into ‘deep sleep’ mode, which means that the energy consumption of the sensors is zero at that time. This makes the sensors durable in relation to wear and battery consumption.

SWYCS has years of experience in making buildings smart

SWYCS has years of experience in making buildings smart through the use of their own IoT infrastructure. SWYCS is specialized in accessing data from (IoT) sensors, and efficiently managing actuators and installations in buildings and homes.

By these means a direct contribution is made to safety, health and well-being in said buildings and homes. Making buildings and homes smart contribute to the sustainability goals of SWYCS and their customers.
