Sustainability at SWYCS
At SWYCS we strive for a positive impact on the environment and society. Safety, health and well-being of employees and customers are central. For us, sustainability does not only mean environmentally friendly solutions, but also a safe and healthy working environment, with a future in which people and nature are in balance. Our commitment to quality, sustainability and safety continues to develop. SWYCS is continuously working on improvements to ensure that technologies and methods meet the highest, most responsible standards. In this way, we contribute to a liveable world for future generations.

The energy-neutral head office of SWYCS
In 2022, SWYCS took an important step towards a sustainable future by moving to a fully energy-neutral head office. Using the innovative SWYCS platform and advanced sensors, we continuously optimize our energy consumption, which ensures maximum efficiency and minimal impact on the environment. We also invest in sustainable transport. All new company cars are electric, which means that 25% of our fleet has already been renewed. SWYCS also actively encourages the use of public transport and OV bicycles and employees are given the opportunity to work flexibly from home.
With these initiatives, we underline our commitment to sustainability and create a working environment that is not only green, but also flexible and future-oriented.
Energy reduction for customers
SWYCS solutions go beyond just efficiently managing buildings; they actively contribute to sustainability. With our advanced monitoring of installations and buildings, we offer managers the tools to optimally manage their buildings and reduce energy consumption. By gaining better insight into and control over systems, our customers not only achieve significant cost savings, but also contribute to a greener future.

Sustainable waste management and reuse at SWYCS
At SWYCS, we actively work towards waste reduction by making recycling and reuse central to our policy. Business waste, such as defective sensors, is carefully separated and collected. Instead of destroying sensors, we ensure that they are fully reused, thus limiting unnecessary waste.
For products that have completed their entire life cycle, we work together with a specialized electronics recycling company. In this way, we contribute to a circular economy and reduce our ecological footprint with every sensor we produce and maintain.
Social involvement, space for everyone and care for the community
SWYCS strives for an inclusive work environment in which everyone gets a chance. That is why SWYCS offers space to people who are distanced from the labor market, such as the long-term unemployed or people with a traumatic past. They receive guidance to proudly participate in the labor process and to use their talents.
SWYCS also combats food waste by donating surplus products to a Zeeland initiative, which helps local families in need. In this way, SWYCS contributes to a future that is both sustainable and socially just, with an eye for people, society and the environment.
Innovation and inspiration for the next generation
SWYCS operates in the world of smart technologies and innovative solutions. Young talent brings a fresh perspective, energy and creativity, and we are convinced that these qualities are indispensable for the future. That is why SWYCS offers internships and graduation positions to students from colleges and universities. This gives them the opportunity to convert their theoretical knowledge into valuable practical experience. Students work on real projects and are challenged to further develop their skills, while at the same time they are introduced to the latest technologies and trends.
Connection between theory and practice with guest lectures
The guest lectures of SWYCS for secondary education, college and university students bridge the gap between theory and practice. They offer students practical knowledge and inspiration, while SWYCS gets the chance to share experiences. This strengthens the connection between education and the professional field and encourages students to use their talents for a positive impact.
In addition, the guest lectures contribute to the social development of students. By sharing practical examples on topics such as sustainability and innovation in healthcare, SWYCS motivates them to actively contribute to a sustainable and inclusive future.
Durable and reliable sensors of the best quality
SWYCS consciously chooses sensors with an excellent price-performance ratio and long-term performance. In the past five years, hardly any defects have been reported, which confirms their high reliability. Maintenance is minimal and limited to battery replacement and inspection.
Our sensors switch to ‘deep sleep mode’ after transmission modes to reduce energy consumption to almost zero, which minimizes wear and battery consumption. This ensures a sustainable and reliable solution for our customers.
SWYCS is a leader in realizing smart buildings thanks to years of experience with its own IoT infrastructure. Our solutions make the use of buildings more efficient and directly improve safety, health and comfort within buildings. The sustainability goals of both SWYCS and our customers are supported in this way.
