Sensors
The quality of measured data a sensor measures is very important. This data is used in the software to acquire data about energy usage, air quality and occupancy information.
Because of this, SWYCS only works with the best sensors the market has to offer. Many sensors come with a double measure functionality to be certain of the accuracy the sensor measures.
The characteristics of
SWYCS sensors
Generic and vendor neutral
For every solution there is a specific sensor regardless of brand or type.
Maximum support
Sensors are able to connect to the gateway both wired and wireless.
Future-proof
All types of sensors can be used in combination with each other.
Secure connections
Communication between sensors and gateway are secured through encryption.
Easy to install
Sensors are installed quickly and easily and are almost invisible.
Environmental sensor
The environmental sensors monitor the use of a building or space. The sensors are mounted to the ceiling. These measurement data is used in the software to gain information about the occupancy grade. The sensor does not register who is in the room.
Area of application: Offices, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals
Characteristics
• Measure the use of a room
• Power supply: Battery, 5 Volt or 1.5A
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
Indoor climate sensor
The indoor climate sensor monitors the indoor climate. This can be as easy as: Temperature, CO₂ and humidity, but can be more in depth with for example: Ozone, barometric pressure, light and more. The sensor is mounted to the wall of a room.
Area of application: Offices, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics
• Measures the climate of a room
• Power supply: Battery, 5 Volt
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
Desk sensor
The desk sensors monitor the use of a work place. The sensor is mounted to the underside of a desk. The sensor does not register who is using the workplace.
Area of application: Offices, health care facilities, educational facilities
Characteristics
• Measure the use of a workplace
• Power supply: Battery powered
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
People counter
The people counter keeps track of how many people are in one room. The sensor is mounted to the ceiling, wall or built-in. The sensor monitors how full a room is and can even work in dark spaces. The sensor makes a so called ‘depth map’ without saving any images.
Area of application: Offices, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics
• Measure the number of people in a room
• Can handle multiple zones per room
• Power supply: PoE or 5 Volt
• Protocol: IP or wireless LoRa
Door sensor
The door sensor monitors the use of a door. The sensor is easily mounted to the door post. These measurement data are used in the software to gain information about the use of a door. The sensor does not register who is using the door.
Area of application: Offices, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics
• Measure the use of a door or window
• Power supply: Battery powered
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
Parking sensor
The parking sensors monitor the use of a parking space. The sensor is mounted to the floor of the parking place or ceiling or parking garage. The sensor does not register who is standing on the parking place.
Area of application: Parking facilities (indoor and outdoor)
Characteristics
• Measure the use of a parking space
• Power supply: Battery powered
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa, SIGOX, NB-IoT
Water sensor
The water sensor measures the temperature of a water pipe and can be used for legionella control. The sensor is mounted to a water pipe.
Area of application: Offices, industry, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics
• Measure water use, temperature and monitor for legionella
• Power supply: Battery powered
• Battery life: Up to max. 2 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
Water leak sensor
The water leak sensor is a sensor that, based on conduction, detects the presence of liquids. Next to that, it is also possible to measure temperature and humidity. The sensor is mounted to the wall with the end of the conductor directly on the ground.
Area of application: Offices, data centers, industry, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics
• Measure the presence of liquids, temperature and humidity
• Power supply: Battery powered
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
CO sensor
The CO sensor monitors for the presences of carbon monoxide and alarms these. The sensor is mounted to a wall close to the boiler and other likewise appliances.
Area of application: Offices, industry, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics
• Measure and monitor for carbon monoxide in a room
• Power supply: 12 Volt DC, 1A
• Service life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
Gas detection sensor
The gas detection sensors monitor for a potential gas leak and alarm these. The sensor is mounted to a wall close to the boiler and other likewise appliances.
Area of application: Offices, industry, health care facilities, educational facilities, hospitals, stores
Characteristics•
Measure and monitor for gas (methane) in a room
• Power supply: 12 Volt DC, 1A
• Service life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
Bathroom sensor
The bathroom sensor is namely used for the monitoring of public bathrooms. The sensor is fixed above the bathroom stall, on the wall or the ceiling. The sensor shows the use of a bathroom, but does not register who is using the bathroom.
Area of application: Public sanitary areas such as in offices, airports, train stations, educational facilities, municipal facilities, shopping centers
Characteristics
• Measure the use of a public toilet
• Power supply: Battery powered
• Battery life: Up to max. 5 years
• Protocol: wireless LoRa
The sensors that SWYCS uses are from Europe as opposed to Asia, this way we make sure to have a minimal CO₂ footprint.
This way, existing infrastructure is being made smarter! Want to know if existing infrastructures can be made even better?
