Last Friday, our Operations Manager, Johan, gave an inspiring guest lecture on IoT to the ICT students of Scalda in Terneuzen. During this session, Johan took the students into the world of SWYCS: who is SWYCS, who are our customers and what innovative solutions do we offer.
The lesson delved deeper into the different types of sensors, their functionalities and how we use them in our projects. The SWYCS gateways were also discussed, explaining how sensors, gateways and the portal work together seamlessly as one integrated system. In addition, special attention was paid to cybersecurity, explaining how SWYCS ensures that all systems communicate with each other safely and reliably.
After the theoretical explanation, it was time for action! The students were given the assignment to design an IoT solution for a fictitious tender. They determined which sensors and connections were needed to meet the requirements, and then presented their solutions to the class. The result? Creative, well-thought-out plans that perfectly matched the assignment – a clear sign that the guest lecture was a great success!
